Migratory Plants.

These two photos are taken at the same spot. My favourite pond project . One was taken last week during the cold snap. Notice the water soldier plant. It is the spiky one. They sink in the winter, in order to escape the chill wind. This strikes me as a very good trick for a plant . We do not normally think of them as being able to move from one place to another .
